Late Summer Reds

Some random red hair art finds. Late summer, 2026.

This is my favourite of the bunch. An image of the dramatist Édouard Pailleron's wife, painted by John Singer Sargent.

Next is another by Singer, along with a painting by Edward Hopper. Both are paintings where the red hair, though minimal, draws the focus of the image.

Finally, we have some paintings by the German expressionist painter Ernst Ludwig Kirchner. I share them a little reluctantly, as they're not really to my taste. They're a bit ugly and disturbing, though admittedly interesting.

(We shared some of his paintings on here a few years ago. Seemingly he liked to paint redheads, so that's at least to his credit.
